Search Atlas grew out of LinkGraph, an SEO agency Manick Bhan founded in New York in 2017 after working in technical SEO and machine learning. Rather than only selling agency services, the LinkGraph team spent years building internal tooling for keyword research, content generation, and site auditing, then packaged it as a standalone software suite under the Search Atlas brand, publicly launched in September 2023. The platform's signature feature is OTTO SEO, billed as one of the first autonomous SEO agents: instead of only surfacing a list of technical issues, OTTO can push meta tag fixes, schema markup, and other on-page changes to a site directly, subject to approval settings. Search Atlas has since layered on additional modules including Content Genius for AI drafting, Smart Ads for Google Ads automation, and LLM visibility tracking for AI search engines. Search Atlas is self-funded rather than venture-backed, and Manick Bhan, together with co-founder and COO Sophia Deluz-Bhan, has said the company serves tens of thousands of customers and thousands of agency accounts worldwide from its New York base.
