Mozn
Saudi Arabian AI company building Arabic-first fraud prevention, AML compliance and enterprise knowledge tools for MENA financial institutions.

Mozn was founded in Riyadh in 2017 by Mohammed Alhussein, Khaled Al-Ghoneim, Abdullah Alsaeed and Malik Alyousef, with an early focus on Arabic natural language understanding, a gap the founders saw major global AI vendors underserving given the complexity of Arabic dialects and script variation. That NLU work became the foundation for the company's move into financial crime prevention, where multilingual name-matching across Arabic and Latin scripts is a genuinely hard technical problem for sanctions and watchlist screening. Its flagship product, FOCAL, is an AI-powered anti-money-laundering and fraud prevention platform used by banks and fintechs across the Gulf region, and it has been recognized as a category leader in Chartis Research's RiskTech Quadrant for both AML transaction monitoring and KYC. The company has also built OSOS, an enterprise knowledge platform aimed at a different problem: turning scattered internal documents into something a company's own staff can query directly. Mozn raised a $10 million Series A in February 2022 led by Raed Ventures, with Shorooq Partners, VentureSouq and Sukna Ventures also participating, and maintains offices in both Riyadh and Dubai.
