Loop was founded in 2017 in Columbus, Ohio, by Jonathan Poma and Chris Pinchot, among other co-founders, and Poma continues to serve as the company's CEO. The company remains headquartered in Columbus. Loop's platform automates return, exchange and store-credit workflows for Shopify brands, replacing manual, email-based return handling with a self-service flow for customers and rules-based logic for merchants that nudges shoppers toward an exchange or credit rather than a straight refund. It also provides analytics on why customers are returning specific products, and integrates with shipping and fraud-prevention tools for label generation and return abuse detection. Loop has raised a total of roughly $176 million, including a $65 million Series B led by CRV in 2021 and a further extension in 2023, and the platform is used by thousands of Shopify brands to manage post-purchase operations.
