HubSpot was founded in 2005 by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah in Cambridge, Massachusetts, originally around inbound marketing software. The company went public in 2014 and trades on the NYSE under ticker HUBS. Its platform spans marketing, sales, customer service, operations, and CMS tools, primarily for small and midsize businesses. In 2024 HubSpot launched Breeze, its built-in AI platform, at INBOUND 2024. Breeze includes Breeze Assistant (a conversational AI interface), Breeze Agents (autonomous agents for prospecting, content, social, and support), and Breeze Intelligence (a data-enrichment layer drawing on 200M+ company and contact profiles). HubSpot has made AI-related acquisitions including Clearbit (2023), Frame AI (2024), and XFunnel (2025). Yamini Rangan has served as CEO since September 2021; the company reported roughly 8,200 employees as of 2024-2025.
