GrowthBook
Open-source, warehouse-native feature flagging and experimentation platform that layers an AI copilot on top of your own analytics data.

GrowthBook was founded in 2020 by Jeremy Dorn and Graham McNicoll, who wanted an alternative to closed, per-event-priced feature flagging tools that required piping user data into a third party's warehouse. The company went through Y Combinator and is backed by Khosla Ventures, Nava Ventures, and other investors, having raised a $22.6 million Series A that brought total funding to roughly $23 million. The product is built around an MIT-licensed open-source core that any team can self-host for free, plus a paid cloud version and enterprise tier for teams that want managed infrastructure and support. Rather than piping user event data into a proprietary store, GrowthBook reads metrics directly out of a company's own Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Postgres instance, so flag targeting and experiment analysis run against data the customer already owns. By mid-2026 GrowthBook said its SDKs were handling over a trillion flag evaluations across more than 3,000 companies, including Dropbox, Khan Academy, and Mistral AI, and had added a conversational AI layer that lets product teams ask analytics questions in plain language instead of writing SQL.
