Canny
Bootstrapped feedback and changelog platform where an AI layer called Autopilot captures, dedupes, and summarizes customer feature requests.

Canny was founded in 2015 by Sarah Hum and Andrew Rasmussen, who met working as a designer and engineer at Facebook and built the product after watching product teams manage feature requests in scattered spreadsheets and Slack threads. The company has never raised outside venture funding, running profitably as a bootstrapped business since its early days, and is based in San Francisco with a small team. Canny's core product lets companies collect feedback on public or private boards, score and prioritize requests, build a roadmap, and publish a changelog when a requested feature ships, closing the loop with the customers who originally asked for it. In 2023 the company introduced Autopilot, an AI layer that scans support tickets and sales call notes to surface feedback that would otherwise stay buried, automatically detects and merges duplicate requests, drafts clarifying replies, and summarizes long comment threads. The company reports roughly $3.5 million in estimated annual recurring revenue and has kept its team small, prioritizing profitability over the funding-fueled growth path many of its feedback-management competitors have taken.
