TaxDome Releases Client MCP for Accountants’ Clients

TaxDome released a client MCP on Nov. 4, 2026, giving a firm’s clients a way to reach their accountant through an AI assistant. The company describes the feature as an industry first. Clients connect their TaxDome account to Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP-compatible assistant, then ask questions in plain language, such as “what’s outstanding” or “is my return ready?”

Documents, requests and invoices

The client MCP lets users ask about documents, requests and invoices in the same chat they use for other tasks. A single connection covers all of a client’s entities. When a request requires a signature or payment, the assistant can provide the relevant link; the client can open it in the TaxDome app with one tap.

The feature is designed to reflect the client’s existing access in TaxDome. A connection sees only what the client already sees: the client’s own accounts and sign-in, and no additional firm data. TaxDome says the AI client experience is included with its platform at no cost to firms or clients. Its availability does not depend on whether a firm has the company’s AI add-on.

Client experience through an assistant

“We’re focused on providing the best possible client experience wherever clients are: the mobile app, the web, and now the assistant in their pocket,” said Ilya Radzinsky, co-founder of TaxDome. “Today this is for early adopters. But AI assistants and agents will become a bigger part of the consumer experience, and accountants using TaxDome will be there to provide it.”

The release also describes a client’s experience using the feature. “My whole company runs out of Claude. This was the easiest back-and-forth I’ve ever had with my accountant. I like their portal, but never going into it is even better,” said Neil Mukhi, founder of Six10 Ventures.

TaxDome included a comment from Ryan Bakke, CPA and founder of Tax Strategy 365, about document collection during tax season. Bakke said clients can set up the feature and have the requested materials appear for the firm, addressing delays caused by waiting for documents.

Available to TaxDome firms

The client MCP is live for all firms and is available in the Claude directory and ChatGPT plugin store, according to TaxDome. Clients can use it to ask about outstanding items or the status of a return, while the release says any follow-up requiring a signature or payment can be completed through a link that opens in the app.

TaxDome is a practice management platform for tax, bookkeeping and full-service accounting firms. The company says it is used by more than 15,000 practices in over 25 countries. It also reports that its client app has a 4.9-star rating across more than 40,000 reviews and was named a 2026 Webby Award Honoree.
