Superhuman acquires meeting-notetaker startup Fathom
Superhuman says it has acquired Fathom and plans to connect the meeting-notetaker’s recordings, summaries and insights to its suite of workplace apps and AI agents.

Superhuman announced Monday that it has acquired Fathom, bringing one of the better-known AI meeting-notetaking products into its suite of email, calendar, documents, databases, and AI agents.
The acquisition gives Superhuman a way to capture one of the few major sources of work context that its existing products do not directly control: what people say, decide, and assign during meetings. The company says it plans to connect Fathom’s meeting data to its broader product suite, rather than keep the notetaker as a separate transcript and summary tool.
“Superhuman users have been asking for an integrated notetaker for a long time,” said Shishir Mehrotra, CEO of Superhuman. “Meeting notes are one of the clearest, most valuable places where AI can help, and it’s one of the categories I’ve spent the most time with. That’s when I fell in love with Fathom and the team. We’re working together on something I believe will set a new bar for the category.”
Fathom adds meetings to Superhuman’s agent system
Superhuman describes the acquisition as an extension of its effort to place AI assistance across the tools people use for work. Its suite includes email, calendar, collaborative documents, databases, and Superhuman Go, an assistant that the company says works across more than 1 million applications and websites.
Fathom’s meeting recordings and summaries are intended to give those products information about conversations that would otherwise remain in recordings, personal notes, or isolated CRM entries. In one example supplied by Superhuman, an agent could review a team standup transcript, draft status updates for a project tracker in Superhuman Docs, and notify a project manager for approval.

Bot-free recording gives Fathom a specific edge
Fathom’s product includes bot-free recording options, live summaries, meeting search, and integrations with customer relationship management systems and AI tools. Superhuman says the technology delivers meeting capture with bot-free options, live summaries as meetings unfold, and integrations that bring meeting insights into CRMs, agents, and other workflows.
That feature matters because meeting assistants can otherwise add another visible participant to every call. Superhuman’s announcement says Fathom will bring its bot-free capture, live summaries, and integrations into the wider suite. It does not specify whether Fathom will keep its current standalone product, whether pricing will change, or when the first combined features will arrive.
Meeting data becomes input for follow-up work
The acquisition reflects a shift in how productivity companies are positioning meeting assistants. Recording and summarizing a call is useful, but the commercial value increases when the resulting decisions and action items move into email, project documents, databases, sales systems, and scheduled follow-ups.
Superhuman already has products that can perform those next steps. Its agent builder lets users create agents triggered by schedules, events, or activity inside connected applications. Fathom supplies another source of events and instructions: the conversation itself.
Superhuman says it serves more than 40 million people, 50,000 organizations, and 3,000 educational institutions worldwide. Fathom adds a user base built around meetings and a product that already connects transcripts and summaries to other workplace systems. The immediate result is a larger pool of context for Superhuman’s agents, with the first test being whether those agents can turn meeting decisions into accurate work without adding another manual handoff.
