“Together, we intend to push the frontier of AI cybersecurity by bringing autonomous security systems closer to the development of frontier-class foundation models.”

Cohere’s AISLE deal is still proposed

Cohere and AISLE announced on October 15, 2026, that they had signed a letter of intent for Cohere to acquire the cybersecurity startup. The agreement is proposed, not a completed acquisition; the companies have not announced a closing date or purchase price. AISLE says its Prague headquarters will become Cohere’s Prague office if the transaction closes.

The announcement extends Cohere’s push to combine its AI models and enterprise deployments with security capabilities. Cohere says AISLE’s autonomous systems can find, validate and help remediate previously unknown vulnerabilities in critical software. The companies plan to bring that work closer to Cohere’s model research and training.

AISLE brings more than 500 reported vulnerabilities

AISLE says that in its first year out of stealth, its systems identified more than 500 previously unknown vulnerabilities assigned CVEs across more than 100 codebases. The company says its findings included all 12 vulnerabilities in OpenSSL’s January security release and 18 of the 24 CVEs in curl’s latest release. Relevant software maintainers reviewed the findings, according to Cohere’s announcement.

The figures describe reported vulnerabilities, not a general measure of security performance across all software. AISLE’s co-founders argue that the surrounding system matters alongside the underlying model: code analysis, false-positive checks and remediation help turn a suspected flaw into a finding maintainers can assess. That emphasis gives Cohere a security workflow to integrate, rather than only a set of model capabilities.

Three founders take roles at Cohere

AISLE’s three founders are set to join Cohere in leadership positions. Ondrej Vlcek will lead the newly established Cohere Cyber business as senior vice president; Jaya Baloo will become Cohere’s global chief information security officer; and Stanislav Fort will lead AI security research as vice president of AI security.

Cohere says Fort will also work with co-founder and chief technology officer Ivan Zhang to connect security research with core model development and training. The company plans to expand AISLE’s existing Prague presence and make the city its global center for AI cybersecurity and autonomous security systems. The announcement does not provide a timetable for that expansion.

Cybersecurity becomes part of Cohere’s AI offer

Cohere says AISLE’s technology is expected to support security and threat detection for enterprise and public-sector customers, strengthen oversight of AI agents, and protect sensitive data and critical systems. The company also points to deployments in private cloud, on-premises and air-gapped environments. Those are intended capabilities, not a list of products or launch dates disclosed with the deal.

The proposed acquisition would put vulnerability research, internal security leadership and model development within one company. Its practical value will depend on how Cohere integrates AISLE’s tools and whether the combined work can keep producing findings that software maintainers validate and fix. The companies have not disclosed the transaction’s price or when they expect it to close.
