“The HUMAIN deal is very important to Aramco, building on the company’s long track record of innovation and technology.”

Saudi Aramco has completed its acquisition of a 49% stake in HUMAIN, the Saudi AI company launched by the kingdom’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). PIF retains a 51% stake, while Aramco acquires 49%, with both shareholders contributing AI assets, capabilities and talent to support HUMAIN’s expansion. The company is building an AI ecosystem spanning data centers, high-performance computing, advanced models, applications and industry solutions.
A 49% stake, with cash and AI assets
Aramco is acquiring the stake through a wholly owned subsidiary. The transaction includes approximately 9.9 billion Saudi riyals ($2.6 billion) in cash contributions from Aramco to HUMAIN during 2026, alongside AI, compute and digital assets. The announcement does not assign a separate valuation to HUMAIN or break down the assets being transferred.
The companies say they will contribute capabilities and talent as well as assets, and will oversee HUMAIN’s expansion together. PIF frames the deal as part of its 2026–2030 strategy to deepen ties across economic sectors, expand private-sector participation and grow Saudi companies with international ambitions.
Aramco expects to use HUMAIN’s AI infrastructure and services to develop industrial applications and support its operations. The company says the partnership could also help it generate revenue from existing AI and digital assets; those are projected benefits, not reported results from the HUMAIN deal.
HUMAIN’s 3-gigawatt data-center plan
HUMAIN plans to deploy 3 gigawatts of AI data-center capacity by 2030 to meet regional and global demand for computing. Its announced business spans next-generation data centers, high-performance computing infrastructure and cloud platforms, advanced AI models, and transformative AI solutions.
The company’s models include ALLAM, which PIF describes as one of the world’s most powerful multimodal Arabic large language models. HUMAIN launched in May 2025, and the new ownership brings Aramco’s AI and digital assets into the company as it builds out that infrastructure and model portfolio.
Aramco President and CEO Amin H. Nasser said the company had achieved $11.3 billion in Technology Realized Value since 2023, with a significant portion coming from AI solutions.
Regulatory clearance preceded the closing
The European Commission reviewed the proposed transaction and decided on July 22, 2026, not to oppose it, declaring the operation compatible with the EU internal market and the European Economic Area. The Commission’s decision described Aramco and PIF as acquiring joint control of HUMAIN through shares and assets. PIF and Aramco announced the closing on November 1, 2026.
The completed deal joins PIF’s majority ownership with Aramco’s AI assets and a planned cash contribution. HUMAIN’s stated target is 3 gigawatts of data-center capacity by 2030, with the company aiming to meet growing regional and global demand for AI compute and become one of the leading exporters of AI globally. The announcement does not provide a construction schedule or specify how much of that capacity is already operating.
