Anthropic is giving corporate customers new ways to examine what Claude costs and what teams get for that spending, as AI expenses rise. The company made smart reports, in-app surveys and pooled group budgets generally available for Claude Enterprise on October 28, 2026. Its reports connect teams’ Claude activity to work produced, costs and workflow problems, but do not establish that the spending pays off.
Rising bills meet a demand for evidence
Jellyfish Research says the typical company’s AI spend per active user tripled in the six months from March through August 2026. Its analysis drew on AI usage, delivery and work-allocation data covering more than 878,000 developer-weeks. The finding provides context for Anthropic’s new tools, which aim to help customers see how teams use Claude and what that work costs.
Anthropic’s announcement addresses that demand with a product-level response: instead of stopping at usage totals, the company’s reports aim to show which kinds of team work consume Claude and where a workflow gets stuck.
Reports connect workstreams to costs
An administrator selects a team, date range and Claude products to include. Claude then analyzes a sample of the team’s transcripts and groups activity into workstreams, showing their associated spending, deliverables and common friction points. Anthropic names missing connectors and failed tool calls as examples.
Reports also provide recommendations, such as turning recurring workflows into skills or adding rules to a code repository. Administrators can ask custom questions about model use and cost, save useful questions as templates, and share findings with colleagues who can act on them. Billing-permission administrators can also raise a spend limit from a report if it is holding someone back.
Anthropic says owners can let team leads who are not administrators run reports for their own groups. The company says the feature is meant to inform adoption and investment planning, not to evaluate individual performance or make employment decisions.
John Jannone, AI Enablement Lead, Engineering Enablement, described the reports’ use at DoorDash:
“I'm very close to how our teams use Claude, and smart reports still surfaced things I didn't know.”
Surveys add employee accounts; budgets pool limits
In-app surveys ask employees what they have done with Claude, how it changed the time required, which uses coworkers should copy and what would slow down if access disappeared. Administrators can customize or remove questions and choose who receives a survey, when it runs and where it appears. Responses arrive on a survey page and can be exported to a spreadsheet.
Pooled budgets give a team one shared monthly allowance while retaining individual member limits. Each request counts against both limits, and a user stops when either one runs out. Employees can request more spending through Claude for an administrator to review; billing administrators receive budget alerts at 50%, 75%, 95% and 100%.
That arrangement lets a team shift spending room toward heavier users without removing per-person limits. It gives managers control over how budgets are divided, while the reports are intended to help them see what work is drawing on those budgets.
Anthropic’s reports show activity, not proven returns
The tools provide a more organized account of usage and reported work, but a list of deliverables does not by itself show that Claude caused a productivity gain or that the value exceeded the cost. Survey responses offer employees’ own assessments; transcript analysis groups examples of work and friction. Anthropic’s announcement does not present a validated measure of return on investment.
All three features are generally available to Claude Enterprise customers as of October 28, 2026, though Anthropic says availability can vary by configuration, including for organizations using HIPAA configurations or customer-managed encryption keys. Companies can inspect team-level activity, gather employee feedback and set shared budgets in the same product; proving the business value of that activity remains a separate task.
