Waymo's Safety team is hiring a vehicle systems safety engineer to work on the base vehicle platform that carries the Waymo Driver. The role covers item definitions and system-level safety analyses such as HARA for drivetrain, brakes and steering, plus OEM and Tier 1 safety management: DIAs, work-product reviews and process audits. It asks for a BS in engineering, four or more years in automotive system development and four in ISO 26262 functional safety. Distinctive: up to 15% of time goes to improving internal safety processes, with quarterly international travel.
