Waymo is hiring a technical lead manager for its Route & Motion Generation group, which builds onboard motion planning software for the Waymo Driver. The work covers low-speed maneuvering, evaluation of on-road performance, tracing driving-behaviour problems through logs, and long-tail driving situations, with the lead mentoring junior engineers while still contributing code. The posting asks for an MS/PhD or four years of equivalent experience, strong C++, and at least one year managing five or more reports.
