Waymo's ML Infrastructure team is hiring a senior tech lead manager to lead about ten engineers who make large models run efficiently. The work covers model-system codesign, performance profiling and roofline analysis, low-bit precision training and inference, and deployment to on-device and datacenter hardware, including next-generation TPUs. The posting asks for 10+ years of software engineering, at least five in ML infrastructure, hands-on experience with DeepSpeed, PyTorch, TensorFlow or JAX, and cross-organizational technical leadership. A master's or PhD is preferred.
