OpenAI's GPT Infrastructure team is hiring a systems generalist to build an automated platform for optimizing inference across different accelerator hardware. The work covers control-plane services for long-running optimization campaigns, partner-side software that compiles, runs and benchmarks candidate kernels on third-party hardware, and evaluation tooling for latency, throughput and cost. Candidates need eight or more years building large-scale distributed systems, strength in C++, Python, Go or Rust, and familiarity with compilers, GPUs or inference-serving engines. The role spans research, inference engineering, security and external partners.
