Shield AI is hiring a staff software engineer for its Autonomous Pilot Integration team for launched effects, which builds autonomy software for small air- and ground-launched platforms flying in multi-agent fleets, often in disconnected or air-gapped settings. The engineer writes autonomy code — mission behaviors, platform-specific control, multi-agent coordination, contingencies, executive autonomy — and owns it from software- and hardware-in-the-loop testing through live exercises. The role also leads technical delivery across platform integration, fleet operations, and deployment, working with perception, autopilot vendors, C2 providers, and defense customers.
