A staff machine learning engineer on Waymo's Mapping team, which builds high-resolution maps for autonomous driving. The role involves designing, training and deploying models that automate HD map creation, applying vision-language and other generative techniques, and owning the full lifecycle from data mining through validation and production. It requires eight or more years in machine learning with a computer vision or deep learning focus, fluency in a framework such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or JAX, and a bachelor's degree. C++ and papers at ML or CV conferences are bonuses.
