Waymo's Perception team is hiring a staff machine learning engineer for its data flywheel, working on the datasets, labeling and evaluation that keep perception models improving. The job involves building large-scale training data and recipes, mining data, automating collection and model-update loops, detecting regressions, and designing ML data infrastructure. It asks for a technical degree, four or more years in software engineering and machine learning, C++ and Python, and experience with large-scale distributed data systems. Experience with VLMs or LLMs and data governance is preferred.
