Waymo is hiring a senior software engineer for the Telematics unit, the Linux-based gateway handling all data in and out of its autonomous vehicles. The role covers designing and deploying system software, maintaining the Linux kernel, drivers and OS services, building networking for Wi-Fi and cellular links, and running OTA updates and telemetry across the fleet. It asks for C and C++, three or more years in Linux, and IP networking knowledge; embedded Linux, kernel work and hardware debugging are preferred. Onsite in Mountain View.
