Cursor is hiring a software engineer for its Storage team in San Francisco or New York, on-site. The hire owns Cursor's data layer: databases, caches, and how teams provision, query and scale data stores. Work includes a partitioned multi-database topology, query attribution and guardrails, guidance on choosing storage engines, and cache reliability and capacity planning. It asks for deep relational database experience at scale, especially Postgres, MySQL or OLTP, plus production sharding, migration or decomposition work, operational excellence and strong engineering fundamentals.
