OpenAI is hiring a software engineer for privacy and compliance, based in San Francisco or Seattle, on-site. The person will design and operate backend services that enforce policy-driven data access, lifecycle controls and auditability, build distributed authorization and identity-aware enforcement into data services, and turn privacy requirements from legal and compliance into APIs and defaults. The posting asks for 5+ years running production backend or infrastructure systems, fluency in Python, Go, Rust, C++ or Java, and experience with RBAC/ACL, policy engines or encryption-based access.
