Amazon's Neuron distributed training team, part of Annapurna Labs, builds the software stack for deep learning and generative AI training on Trainium, AWS's custom ML accelerator. The engineer implements and tunes distributed training components for pretraining, post-training and reinforcement learning: parallelism strategies, reduced-precision formats, workload profiling, benchmarks and tests. Requirements include a computer science degree, three or more years in production software development, system design experience, and familiarity with transformer internals. The work spans compiler, runtime, kernels and collectives, and informs future Trainium architecture.
