Apple's Postgres team is hiring a mid-level software development engineer to work on PostgreSQL, the open-source relational database. The role involves building and operating Apple's cloud-based relational database service, which hosts Postgres databases for Services, Manufacturing and AI/ML workloads. The work spans modern database technologies, distributed systems and storage engineering, aimed at enterprise-class performance, availability and durability, plus reliable administration, deployed across data centres worldwide and handling millions of queries per second over petabytes of data. AiDP, IS&T's AI, data and machine learning group, is the wider organisation.
