Waymo's Sensor Foundations team seeks a Senior Staff technical lead manager for its Optimization sub-team. The person leads a small group of software engineers who make sensor data processing fast enough for Perception models, optimizing CPU code, writing and reviewing CUDA, finding system-level wins, and stewarding compute resources. The posting wants a B.Sc., eight or more years in industry, strong C++, CPU or GPU optimization experience, and prior people management. CUDA, compiler work, and an M.Sc. or PhD are preferred.
