Google Research is hiring a senior software engineer to build machine learning models that infer user intent and advertiser objectives for advertising systems. The work spans the full ML lifecycle, from prototypes to production launches, and involves collaborating with research scientists and product teams on LLMs, reinforcement learning and agentic systems. There is scope to co-author papers at conferences such as NeurIPS and ICML. The posting requires five years of software development plus two years each of LLM pre-training or fine-tuning and generative AI work.
