JetBrains is hiring a senior AI engineer to build agentic tools that give AI coding agents deeper context about codebases. The role covers turning product needs into shipped tools, scaling prototypes to many users, improving and testing a semantic search service, and building evaluation pipelines for code retrieval and coding task performance, at the scale of several hundred thousand repositories. It asks for at least five years of hands-on NLP experience, information retrieval work, LLM prompt and tool engineering with agents, Python or Kotlin, and production systems.
