Google DeepMind is hiring a research engineer for its Frontier AI incubation group in Mountain View, on site. The role involves designing, training and optimizing foundational algorithms and machine learning systems — personalized model adaptation, agentic workflows, contextual memory, prompt optimization, multimodal reasoning — and taking them from prototype to production serving. Evaluation covers automated and human-in-the-loop methods for capability, latency, compute efficiency, alignment and personalization fidelity. Requirements include a bachelor's degree or equivalent, Python or C++, and ML, algorithm design and distributed systems experience. Pay is $174,000–$252,000 plus bonus, equity and benefits.
