OpenAI's Foundations Research group is hiring a researcher for its Search team in San Francisco. The work covers embedding training objectives, scalable vector stores and dynamic indexing, so models retrieve and condition on the right information; retrieval feeds OpenAI products and internal research. The posting asks for deep expertise in representation learning, embedding models or vector retrieval, familiarity with transformer LLMs, experience with contrastive or metric learning, and a record of building or scaling large ML systems.
