OpenAI is hiring backend-focused product engineers for its Defense Factory, which builds infrastructure that lets AI agents find and fix security vulnerabilities inside customer-controlled cloud environments. The work centres on Go services and APIs for provisioning environments, running agents in customer infrastructure, and wiring in source control and CI, plus orchestration for long-running parallel jobs with durable state, retries and recovery. Candidates need strong Go, distributed-systems and Linux/networking experience, and a product-minded streak for working directly with customers. Frontend skills are welcome but not required.
