Perplexity's API Platform engineering team is hiring backend engineers to design, build and run the APIs that expose its AI systems to outside developers. The work spans distributed systems, latency and throughput optimization, model and agent orchestration, security and reliability across heterogeneous compute, plus defining technical strategy as customer and agent counts grow. The posting asks for 5+ years of backend experience in Python, Go or Rust, knowledge of high-traffic API design and performance tuning, and AWS, Kubernetes and CI/CD fluency; experience with modern AI APIs is a plus.
