Perplexity's Search Core team is hiring a senior or expert systems engineer for full-time, on-site work in Belgrade, London or Berlin. The person will design and build search engine components: indexing pipelines, retrieval algorithms and ranking systems across billions of pages, plus streaming and batch index construction and low-level performance tuning. The posting asks for three or more years of systems programming in Rust, C++ or C, Python knowledge, hands-on multithreading work, Linux internals, and experience with high-load distributed services. Search engine or database internals experience is preferred.
