xAI is hiring a member of technical staff for its Sandbox service team in London, on-site and full-time. The team builds and runs the system that gives models controlled access to containers and virtual machines: provisioning on large clusters, scheduling jobs, and tuning filesystem and network performance. Models use it to run code, drive tools and explore environments during training. The posting wants expert Rust, C++ or Go, Python familiarity, deep Linux or Windows experience, virtualisation knowledge (cgroups, KVM, gVisor, QEMU) and networking.
