Poolside is hiring a Member of Engineering for evaluations work. The job is to build the infrastructure and tooling its researchers and engineers rely on, and to research and implement benchmarks for base models and instruction-following models, working with applied research and product teams on metrics that reflect real-world software development. Candidates should understand large language models and their limits, and have strong programming skills, ideally in several languages including Python, plus Linux and full software development life cycle experience. The team is remote-first across Europe and North America, gathering in person monthly and for two longer offsites a year.
