OpenAI is hiring a machine learning engineer for its new Monetization team, a cross-functional group across engineering, product, research and design that is building monetization products, including next-generation ads. The work is designing and deploying production models, building scalable data pipelines, optimizing models for performance and accuracy, and maintaining deployed systems. The posting asks for a master's or PhD, experience with deep learning and transformer models, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and familiarity with LLM training methods such as distillation, supervised fine-tuning and policy optimization. Search relevance or ads ranking experience is a plus.
