Perplexity is hiring a Search Machine Learning Engineer Intern for a 12–24 week, full-time, in-person placement in its London office. The intern works on retrieval and ranking: running search-quality experiments, designing search platform and model stack components, training and evaluating models including LLM-based approaches, and helping deploy and monitor them. Work includes RAG pipelines for grounding and answer generation. The posting asks for a machine-learning and statistics foundation, Python with PyTorch, TensorFlow or JAX, and coursework or projects in information retrieval, ranking or recommender systems; Rust is a plus.
