Amazon is hiring a Head of Flight Dynamics to own orbital maneuvering, orbital safety and orbital performance for its Leo satellite constellations. The single-threaded leader heads engineers, research scientists and software developers building orbit determination, trajectory planning and ground software for ascent, station keeping, collision avoidance and end-of-life descent. GNSS independence and space situational awareness programs sit in the same remit, as does ML/AI-based monitoring of data from thousands of satellites. Requirements include a master's degree, ten-plus years managing engineers, orbital mechanics depth, low-thrust propulsion experience, and U.S. export-control eligibility.
