Waymo's Field Safety team is hiring an operations performance lead to run deep-dive investigations into field events involving human-system interaction across autonomous and manual driving, testing and depot operations. The job covers enterprise safety requirements for human drivers and vehicle operators, including fatigue and distraction controls, and analysing field data for closed-loop learning. Applicants need an M.S. in human factors or a related field, 10+ years in safety for complex socio-technical systems, and HOP expertise; a Ph.D. and fatigue-risk-management experience are preferred. Travel is up to 10%.
