OpenAI's Robotics team is hiring a Field Engineer in San Francisco, on-site five days a week, to keep a fleet of robotic workcells online for ongoing data acquisition. The person diagnoses and fixes failures across mechanics, electronics, controls and software, manages tickets and escalations, writes SOPs and diagnostic playbooks, builds small tools, and runs scripts to spot fleet trends. It asks for 5+ years supporting electromechanical, robotic or automation systems, a relevant bachelor's degree, and cross-disciplinary troubleshooting. Relocation assistance is offered.
