OpenAI is hiring an engineering manager for the ChatGPT Library team, part of its Personalization organization. The role leads roughly 9–10 engineers and owns the engineering roadmap for a persistence layer that stores files, context and creations so models can remember, retrieve and act on them. Duties include architecture reviews, prototyping, debugging and writing code, plus hiring. The posting wants a technically hands-on manager with shipped user-facing products and, ideally, founder or early-stage startup experience, comfortable with distributed systems, data persistence, retrieval and permissions.
