OpenAI's Industrial Compute team seeks a senior, hands-on architect to design the physical infrastructure for large-scale AI deployments. The role spans system-level architecture for power, cooling, IT equipment and controls, plus digital twins and simulation models used to test designs, improve PUE, and weigh cost, reliability and water use. It asks for hyperscale or mission-critical data center experience, electrical and mechanical breadth, and modeling tools such as Modelica, MATLAB/Simulink, Python or CFD. Work includes customer design reviews, commissioning and reusable reference architectures.
