OpenAI's Consumer Products team is hiring a camera firmware engineer in San Francisco to own low-level camera enablement on custom hardware, from board bring-up through stable production capture. The work covers sensor drivers, power, reset and clock sequencing, RAW and still capture, hardware-accelerated video encode and streaming, 3A exposure loops, and bring-up tooling. The posting asks for deep embedded camera experience, strong C/C++ on Linux-based systems, and familiarity with MIPI CSI and sensor control buses.
