Base Labs, Baseten's open-source LLM research group, runs three-month full-time fellowships from its San Francisco office. Fellows pursue frontier language-model research with a dedicated senior researcher mentor — Michael Psenka, Max Kirkby or Charles O'Neill — and receive a $15,000 stipend plus compute and research funding. Applications are open to current or recent PhDs in ML, AI or statistics, and to others with a strong research portfolio. The cohort is small, three fellows to three mentors, and publishing at venues such as ICML and NeurIPS is expected.
