Amazon's SCOT Fulfillment Optimization Science & Tech team hires an Applied Scientist in Barcelona (Luxembourg or London also possible) to work on the models behind fulfillment decisions: assigning orders to warehouses, allocating capacity, and controlling network flow. Two pillars: large-scale optimization and planning, and demand forecasting with contextual, uncertainty-aware ML. The posting asks for a PhD or master's plus experience, publications, and programming in Python, Java or C++; production optimization work and solver familiarity are preferred. Prototypes are expected to become production systems, not papers.
