Amazon's WWOS Tech group is hiring an Applied Scientist II to work on theft, fraud and organized-crime detection across its global supply chain and inventory operations. The role owns fraud and theft KPIs, automates detection of fraud methods and crime rings, evaluates operational and system gaps, feeds findings into product strategy, and integrates ML models into software applications. The posting asks for three or more years building models for business use, a PhD or a master's with four years in CS, CE or ML, peer-reviewed publications or patents, programming in Java, C++, Python or similar, and background in algorithms, data mining or distributed computing.
