Anthropic's Applied AI Research Team is hiring an Applied AI Research Engineer in San Francisco or New York. The role sits between customers and product teams: testing new models, building demos, evals and prototypes, writing playbooks and reference architectures, and solving novel technical problems for strategic accounts while feeding field insights back to Product and Research. Candidates need six or more years in a technical role, proficiency in a programming language, and hands-on experience building with large language models. Occasional customer travel is expected.
