OpenAI's Applied AI Engineering team is hiring an Applied AI Engineer for Codex in Tokyo, with three days a week in office. The role partners with customer engineering organisations to design, build and deploy AI coding workflows, integrations, automations and evaluation systems, taking deployments from prototype into production adoption. It calls for hands-on coding, chiefly in Python, plus JavaScript or TypeScript, and familiarity with AI coding tools, systematic evaluation of coding systems, and enterprise requirements such as reliability, observability, security and cost. Deployment findings feed product and model feedback.
