Summer internship on Waymo's software engineering team for PhD students, focused on machine learning and computer vision for autonomous driving. The intern analyzes internal feature representations of multimodal perception foundation models, validates performance on large-scale sensor and simulation data, trains and fine-tunes neural networks, and helps improve data pipelines. The posting asks for current PhD enrollment, Python, hands-on experience with computer vision or multimodal models in PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow, and familiarity with architectures such as Vision Transformers.
