Waymo is hiring a 2027 summer PhD intern for autonomous-driving work in Mountain View. The intern will build prototypes of learning-based behavior policies for special vehicles, connect multi-modal perception signals, create simulation tests and counterfactual scenarios, and examine 3D driving trajectories. The posting asks for a PhD in computer science, robotics or machine learning, experience with reinforcement learning, imitation learning or trajectory forecasting, and Python plus PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow and C++. Preferred: top publications, transformer trajectory generation, simulation frameworks. The role is a hybrid onsite internship paying $85 per hour.
