A summer 2027 internship on Waymo's Model Optimization & ML Runtime team, which works on making perception and foundation models run efficiently on onboard vehicle accelerators. The intern will build parameter-efficient fine-tuning modules in JAX/Flax for multi-task Vision Transformer backbones, develop distillation pipelines to limit multi-task regressions during data scaling, and run ablations on large autonomous driving datasets. Applicants should be pursuing an MS or PhD and have deep learning experience in Python with JAX, PyTorch or TensorFlow, plus fine-tuning, quantization or distillation work.
