A summer 2026 PhD internship on Waymo's AI Foundations team in Mountain View, working on world modeling and reasoning for autonomous driving. The intern solves research problems, prototypes and iterates on ideas, and presents findings inside Waymo with the aim of publishing. The posting wants a current PhD student in computer science, robotics or a similar field with computer vision and machine learning research experience and strong Python. Preferred: first-authored papers at top vision, graphics or robotics conferences, and work with generative models or large language models.
